New Yorker Cover Design
The purpose of this project was to design a hypothetical cover for an autumn issue of The New Yorker. I was given freedom to choose the medium and design I worked with, and I decided to use colored pencils. My inspiration for the design was the drive to my grandmother’s house for Thanksgiving. She lives in a rural area so I always pass barns with quilt squares on the fronts. I based the square on the cover on a quilt that my grandmother made for me when I was younger.
