Composite Collage: Surrealism and Seducing the Eye

The goal of this project was to create a series of images that spoke to the idea of surrealism. The ideas could stem from dreams, visual narratives, or significant imagery. I captured original images and juxtaposed them together using Adobe Photoshop. The first piece below is titled “Tree”; it did not have a narrative at the time of its creation, but looking back on it, it tells the narrative of feeling stuck and reaching out for help or for a change. The second piece below is titled “Dysphoria”, it captures the feeling of being a stranger inside your own body. As a trans artist, my own experiences are rooted deep within this piece, highlighting specifically chest and facial dysphoria.
